Don't pay for transformers, cables and the like, NERC tells Nigerians

The Nigerian Electrical energy Regulatory Fee has warned Nigerians to not pay for electrical energy distribution infrastructure comparable to transformers, cables or poles.

In a press release shared with a video on X on Tuesday, NERC pressured that customers shouldn’t be pressured to purchase transformers, cables or poles, as this accountability lies completely with the distribution firms.

The assertion reads: “Does your distribution firm count on you to purchase transformers, cables or poles? Don't! It’s the DisCo's obligation, not yours!”, NERC states emphatically.

The regulator urged shoppers to report any coercion or delays in delivering wanted supplies by the distribution firms.

The assertion continued: “Please report any coercion to buy or delays in offering these supplies to NERC in order that immediate motion might be taken.”

NERC assured the general public that swift motion could be taken if such complaints had been acquired.
