Lagos arrests 'neighbourhood boys' extorting N100 from pedestrians in Lagos

The Lagos State Authorities has arrested the hoodlums who made individuals pay N100 to make use of a makeshift bridge on the state fairgrounds.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner for Atmosphere and Water Sources, Tokunbo Wahab, in an announcement on X.com.

The arrests got here after a citizen, #ARISE0214, reported the extortion on Wednesday, following heavy rainfall within the space.

Wahab confirmed the arrests on his X account, stating: “Following a grievance filed by #ARISE0214, thugs who charged individuals for utilizing the makeshift crossing bridge at Tradefair have been arrested this morning by the operatives of Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps #LAGESCOfficial.

“They are going to be prosecuted in response to the regulation.”
