Oyebanji threatens punishment for errant herders who destroy crops

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, has threatened sanctions on herders who hold their cattle outdoors their designated grazing areas.

In line with Oyebanji, the state authorities has the duty to guard farmers from destruction of their farms by cattle, with the intention to obtain the state's meals sufficiency and safety goal.

The Governor was on Friday addressing conventional rulers throughout the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Federal Authorities and the Ekiti State Authorities for the upgrading of the State Specialists Hospital, Ikole, to a Federal Medical Centre.

He mentioned: “It is not going to be good for our folks to farm and on the time of harvest, some folks will deliver cattle to take a look at such folks.
